Our story
Three generations of one family business
Far Trading Co. began in Port Said, where Mahmoud ELFar founded the family business. Over three generations it has grown into an importing, distribution and retail group. Far Trading Co. is the parent company and owns Mahmoud ELFar Market, a supermarket chain of 24 branches across Egypt and growing.
The second generation built the commercial base: nationwide importing and distribution, international sourcing, and a supermarket chain that grew from a single branch to eight in Port Said before the family's expansion into Cairo. The third generation has modernised the stores and their retail identity, and is now transforming the group's digital, commercial and financial operations.
